SAY San Diego notified clients that paper files containing personal information (names, case numbers, service dates) for participants in its Dual Diagnosis youth program were inadvertently left in a filing cabinet during an office move in 2013. The files were discovered in 2017 when a citizen returned some found at a salvage store. Files from March and April 2013 remain unrecovered. The organization engaged Kroll for identity monitoring and implemented stricter record-handling procedures.
