Mechanics Bank (dba CRB Auto) disclosed that a single hard drive containing customer loan documentation and personal information was inadvertently left in a computer donated to a non-profit in February 2020. The hard drive was immediately retrieved upon notification by the recipient. The bank determined the data was not shared with unknown third parties. Affected customers were offered 12 months of credit monitoring.
