Edelman Financial Engines notified the New Hampshire Consumer Protection Bureau of a cybersecurity incident on February 4, 2026. On January 7, 2026, an unauthorized third party gained access to two employee accounts via social engineering (phishing) and exfiltrated a small subset of client data. The incident affected 4 New Hampshire residents, exposing Social Security numbers, names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and financial planning information. Notifications were sent on January 28, 2026, offering 24 months of credit monitoring through Kroll. The incident is contained.
