On January 7, 2026, Edelman Financial Engines reported that an unauthorized third party accessed personal information of some clients. The accessed data included names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and financial planning information. For some individuals, Social Security numbers were also accessed. The company promptly terminated the unauthorized access and engaged external security experts to investigate. Affected individuals are offered 24 months of complimentary credit and identity monitoring services.
