Transamerica Retirement Solutions notified affected individuals of a data security incident involving unauthorized access to retirement plan online accounts. The breach occurred between March 2017 and January 2018, where unauthorized parties used compromised third-party credentials to access account information. Affected data included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial account information, and employment details. Transamerica engaged forensic investigators, contacted law enforcement, and offered one year of complimentary identity monitoring services.
