Financial Asset Management Systems (FAMS), a financial collection services provider, experienced a network disruption on March 31, 2023, during which an unauthorized party acquired data stored on its network. The compromised data included names and Social Security numbers. FAMS notified law enforcement, engaged computer specialists, and completed its data review on August 31, 2023. At least 37 Rhode Island residents were impacted. Complimentary credit monitoring was offered to affected individuals.
