Butler University notified affected employees that their personal information (name, SSN, driver's license, bank account info) may have been accessed by hackers between Nov 1, 2013 and May 28, 2014. The breach was discovered on May 28, 2014, following a law enforcement investigation into identity theft involving a flash drive found in an employee's possession. Forensic experts confirmed unauthorized access to the university's network. The university is offering one year of credit monitoring.
