SwedishAmerican Health System (IL) reported to HHS on 2012-07-12 a Theft affecting 1,500 individuals. An individual impersonated an employee of a vendor contracted to dispose of x-ray films, gaining access to a storage area and stealing approximately 1,500 x-ray films. The CE believes the theft was motivated by silver content rather than patient data, but PHI exposed included names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, account numbers, and x-ray types.
