The Oakwood School, a California educational institution, disclosed a data breach involving its third-party vendor, Blackbaud, Inc. The incident involved a ransomware attack on Blackbaud's network between February 7, 2020, and May 20, 2020. Unencrypted backup files containing names and Social Security numbers of students/staff were exfiltrated. Blackbaud paid a ransom and destroyed the files. The Oakwood School notified affected individuals and offered two years of complimentary identity monitoring services.
