Supplemental state-AG notice from Nelnet Servicing on behalf of Granite State Management & Resources regarding unauthorized access to student loan account registration data. Vulnerability exploited between June 1 and July 22, 2022. Affected 14 NH residents. Data included names, addresses, DOB, driver's license, and SSN. Nelnet secured systems, engaged forensic experts, notified DOE and law enforcement, and provided 2 years of credit monitoring.

Granite State Management & Resources inadvertently sent a secure email containing another consumer's name, address, loan account number, and loan balance to an unintended recipient on October 30, 2018. The incident involved one New Hampshire consumer. The unintended recipient confirmed receipt but had not opened the email and agreed to delete it. The company determined the incident was an isolated instance of human error and addressed it through training.
