On June 26, 2023, American Federation of Musicians, Local 47 discovered a ransomware attack that occurred earlier that morning. Hackers encrypted systems, preventing access to computers and email. The breach potentially exposed names, addresses, Social Security Numbers, birthdates, membership passwords, credit card information, and medical records of members and non-members. The union notified the FBI and local law enforcement and is currently recovering data and rebuilding infrastructure.
