Dyson, Inc. reported that a third party gained unauthorized access to user accounts on the Dyson US website (www.dyson.com) on July 31, 2020. The incident compromised account login details (credentials). No government-issued identification, financial, or medical information was involved. Dyson enhanced monitoring, detection capabilities, and security configurations to prevent recurrence and advised users to reset passwords.

DYSON filed a data-breach notice with the Illinois Attorney General during 2020 (case 20-252). The register records the breach as discovered on July 2, 2020. Illinois does not publish the number of people affected — 815 ILCS 530/10 permits the Attorney General to publish only the entity name, the types of personal information and the date range.
