Colorado Eye Clinic suffered a ransomware attack on March 7, 2019, encrypting devices with electronic medical records. On May 8, 2019, the clinic discovered that retinal scans were unrecoverable. No evidence of misuse was found. The clinic restored systems from backups and implemented enhanced security protocols, including password resets and advanced threat protection.
