Abb Inc. Active Employee Group Benefit Plan

The covered entity (CE), ABB Inc. Active Employee Group Benefit Plan, reported that its business associate (BA), BlueAdvantage Administrators of Arkansas, impermissibly disclosed the protected health information (PHI) of 6,877 plan members due to a mailing error. The disclosed information included member names, ID numbers, and addresses. To prevent future incidents, the BA reviewed and updated its procedures, retrained staff, and issued new member cards and ID numbers.
