Gatsby Enterprises, Inc. experienced an accidental disclosure of 1099-MISC forms for independent contractors. On December 13, 2019, an accounting employee inadvertently emailed a .zip file containing 1099-MISC forms for all independent contractors for the 2017 tax year to a single contractor who had requested only her own form. The disclosed data included names, addresses, and the last four digits of Social Security numbers. The recipient notified Gatsby and deleted the file. Two New Hampshire residents were among the affected individuals. Notifications were sent on January 13, 2020.
