Cassia County Joint School District No. 151

Cassia Joint School District #151 notified the Idaho AG of a cybersecurity incident involving its LMS provider, Instructure (Canvas). On May 2, 2026, Instructure reported unauthorized access to user data including names, emails, student IDs, and messages. No passwords, DOBs, or financial data were compromised. Instructure engaged forensics and law enforcement; the District is notifying stakeholders and auditing access controls.

Cassia County Joint School District No. 151 notified the Idaho Attorney General of a cyber breach involving its PowerSchool system. The incident occurred between December 19 and 23, 2024. Teacher and student data, including names, addresses, demographics, medical alerts, and potentially SSNs, were exported. The district states the breach is contained.
