The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, a non-profit organization, experienced an external system breach (hacking) on March 29, 2022. The breach was discovered on April 26, 2022. The compromised information includes names or other personal identifiers in combination with financial account numbers or credit/debit card numbers and their associated security codes, access codes, passwords, or PINs. A total of 1,246 individuals were affected, including 2 residents of Maine. Affected individuals were notified on August 24, 2022, and offered 12 months of complimentary identity theft protection services through IDX.
