On May 4, 2023, Orcutt Union School District learned that a student obtained a teacher's username and password to the Aeries student information system. The student accessed Orcutt Academy High School student information, potentially including names, birthdates, addresses, and grade levels, and may have shared it on Discord. The district secured systems, notified law enforcement, removed the data from Discord, and identified the student. Additional security safeguards were implemented.
