Members Trust of the Southwest Federal Credit Union reported a data breach affecting 7,076 individuals, including 2 Maine residents. The breach, which occurred between September 28, 2022, and October 4, 2022, was discovered on November 15, 2022. The incident was an external system breach (hacking) that exposed names or other personal identifiers in combination with financial account numbers or credit/debit card numbers and their security codes/PINs. Affected individuals were notified on January 17, 2023, and offered one year of identity theft protection services through Experian.
