Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI) notified the NH Attorney General of a data breach affecting approximately one New Hampshire resident. On January 18, 2020, CPI detected suspicious activity and found that an unknown actor used malware to encrypt systems and acquire files from two locations. A review completed on April 9, 2020, confirmed that personal information, including names and Social Security numbers, may have been accessed. CPI engaged forensic investigators, enhanced security monitoring, notified law enforcement, and offered 12 months of identity monitoring services through Kroll. The investigation is ongoing.
