PROCTOR ACADEMY

Proctor Academy notified the NH Attorney General of a data breach involving its third-party vendor, Blackbaud, Inc. A ransomware attack on Blackbaud resulted in the exfiltration of backup files, including a legacy database containing unencrypted Social Security Numbers (SSNs) for 233 New Hampshire residents (and 7 Maryland residents). Proctor sent notices on November 6, 2020, offering two years of Experian identity protection services. Blackbaud paid a ransom for assurances of data destruction.

Proctor Academy reported a data breach to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. The breach was reported on 2020-11-19. 163 Massachusetts residents were affected. The report records the breach type as electronic.

Proctor Academy, an educational institution, reported an external system breach that occurred on June 1, 2020, and was discovered on September 29, 2020. The breach affected 691 individuals, compromising names and Social Security Numbers. Affected individuals were notified on November 7, 2020, and offered identity theft protection services.

Proctor Academy issued a supplemental notice regarding a ransomware breach at vendor Blackbaud. While initial notifications in July 2020 stated no PII was compromised, Blackbaud later confirmed that a legacy database containing unencrypted Social Security Numbers was accessed. Proctor is offering 24 months of credit monitoring to affected individuals.
