Saint Xavier University (Chicago, IL) disclosed that an unauthorized actor downloaded files from limited SXU systems between June 29 and July 18, 2023. The breach was discovered on August 26, 2024 after a thorough data review. Compromised data included names, Social Security numbers, and financial account information. 22 Maine residents were among 212,267 total individuals affected. Notifications were sent October 30, 2024. SXU offered 12 months of free credit monitoring through IDX/ZeroFox.
