CDK Global LLC discovered on June 19, 2024 that a third party gained unauthorized access to its systems between June 14–20, 2024 and obtained files containing vendor information including names, business or personal addresses, and business tax identification numbers or Social Security numbers. In total, 36 individuals were affected, including 1 Maine resident. CDK notified law enforcement and federal regulators, contained the incident, and offered 24-month credit monitoring via Cyberscout.

Penske Automotive Group filed an 8-K on June 19, 2024, disclosing that its third-party vendor, CDK Global, LLC, experienced a cybersecurity incident rendering its systems inoperable. Penske's primary US automotive operations do not use CDK, but its Premier Truck Group business was disrupted. Penske implemented business continuity plans and manual processes to maintain operations. The investigation is ongoing.
