Synopsys, Inc. notified the New Hampshire Attorney General of a data breach involving a third-party vendor, Colt Express Outsourcing Services, Inc. On May 26, 2008, Colt's office was broken into and computer equipment containing personal information of former Avant! employees (acquired by Synopsys) was stolen. The data included names, addresses, and Social Security numbers for 3,053 individuals, including 34 New Hampshire residents. Synopsys began notifying affected individuals on June 20, 2008, and provided six months of ID theft protection services.
