Teachers' Retirement System of the City of New York notified Montana residents of a data breach involving third-party vendor PBI Research Services. A vulnerability in PBI's MOVEit Transfer application allowed unauthorized access to payee data (names, SSNs, DOBs, addresses) on May 29-30, 2023. TRS systems were not compromised. PBI engaged law enforcement and offered 24 months of credit monitoring.
