Episcopal Community Services notified constituents of a data breach involving third-party provider Blackbaud, Inc. A ransomware attack on Blackbaud's systems resulted in the exfiltration of a backup file containing donor contact information, names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and giving history. The unauthorized access occurred between February 7, 2020, and May 20, 2020. ECS was notified on July 16, 2020. Blackbaud paid the ransom and confirmed the stolen data was destroyed. No financial or government ID data was compromised.
