H & R BLOCK, INC. notified customers of unauthorized access to their accounts. The filing says: “Based on our review, it appears the unauthorized party obtained your login credentials from a source other than H&R Block.”

H&R Block states that on or about June 5, 2020 an internal security review determined that an unauthorized party may have used the recipient's username and password, apparently obtained from a source other than H&R Block, to access the recipient's MyBlock account on or about April 24, 2020. Information such as name, address, phone number, Social Security number and tax returns may have been viewed. H&R Block locked the account and offered 12 months of Experian IdentityWorks identity protection.
