The breach was discovered on June 4, 2018, when a security researcher notified the company of a file containing this data on a third-party server. MyHeritage responded by resetting all user passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and engaging forensic investigators. No other personal data, such as financial information or DNA data, was believed to be compromised.
