Sonus Hearing Care Professionals experienced a physical theft of hard drives and CPUs during a burglary at its Lancaster, CA location on March 5, 2021. The company became aware of the incident on March 4, 2021. Approximately 3,100 patient records may have been compromised, containing names, addresses, birthdates, insurance information, audiograms, and hearing aid information. No credit card or social security numbers were stored on the stolen devices. The company filed a police report, replaced hardware with encrypted drives, reinforced physical security, and offered 12 months of credit monitoring.
