TransUnion Risk and Alternative Data Solutions (TRADS) reported that individuals misrepresented themselves to gain access to consumer accounts and personal data between February 8, 2024, and April 16, 2024. TRADS identified suspicious activity on July 24, 2024, and concluded its investigation on September 10, 2024, determining that system security was not compromised but that unauthorized access occurred via social engineering/pretexting. Affected data includes names and other personal information. TRADS is offering free credit monitoring.
