MCCU became aware of unusual network activity on November 9, 2024, and determined that an unauthorized person may have accessed personal information of some customers on or around that date. The investigation concluded on December 12, 2024. One Maryland resident was affected and notified on January 9, 2025. MCCU engaged outside experts, notified the FBI, implemented additional technical security measures, and offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through IDX.
