Flagstar Bank, FSB notified the California Attorney General of a data breach involving its third-party vendor, Accellion. On January 22, 2021, Flagstar was informed that Accellion's file-sharing platform had a vulnerability exploited by an unauthorized party. The incident occurred on January 20, 2021. Flagstar took the server offline and discontinued use of the platform. On March 6, 2021, the bank determined that some documents removed from the platform contained customer personal information. Identity monitoring services were provided to affected individuals.
