The breach originated from a ransomware attack on third-party vendor Blackbaud's network between February 7 and May 20, 2020. Blackbaud exfiltrated unencrypted backup files containing the resident's name and Social Security Number. The King School discovered the incident on July 16, 2020, upon notification from Blackbaud.
