The International Association of Sheet Metal Air Rail Workers (SMART) reported a data security incident discovered on September 9, 2023. An investigation determined that certain data may have been acquired without authorization on that date. The potentially affected information included personal identifiable information such as names, addresses, and Social Security numbers. SMART engaged cybersecurity experts, notified the FBI, and offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services through Kroll.
