On February 11, 2018, unknown persons broke into the California Department of Developmental Services offices in Sacramento, ransacking files and starting a fire. Personal information (including SSNs and financial records) and Protected Health Information (PHI) of employees, job applicants, and parents of minors were potentially compromised. Twelve encrypted laptops were stolen, but data was inaccessible. The network was not breached.
