Gulshan Management Services, Inc. reported a cybersecurity incident to the Iowa Attorney General on January 6, 2025. On or about September 27, 2025, an unknown threat actor encrypted GMS's network using Qilin ransomware following a successful phishing attack against an employee. GMS rebuilt systems from backups and engaged forensic investigators. Iowa residents' names, addresses, DOBs, SSNs, and driver's license numbers were compromised. GMS reset credentials, enhanced access controls, and provided credit monitoring to affected individuals.
