CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, reported the theft of an employee's laptop on July 27, 2009. The device contained passcode-protected files with personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers, emails) and financial data (credit card numbers, expiration dates) for a limited number of customers, including approximately three New Hampshire residents. CCH notified the NH Attorney General on August 11, 2009, and offered one year of free credit monitoring via Equifax Credit Watch Gold to affected U.S. consumers.
