The Community College System of NH notified the NH Attorney General that a laptop belonging to a consultant at SunGard Higher Education, an IT services provider, was stolen on March 13, 2008. The unencrypted laptop contained personally identifiable information, including names and Social Security Numbers, of 167 former students. SunGard and CCSNH analyzed backup data to verify the contents. Affected individuals were offered one year of credit monitoring and identity theft insurance.
