Western Union Financial Services, Inc. disclosed that an unauthorized party accessed personal information in July 2016 via a computer intrusion against a vendor-supplied external system used for secure data storage. The affected data may include driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth. Western Union stated that no Western Union systems were directly involved and that the compromised vendor system is no longer in use. The company offered one year of Experian ProtectMyID to affected individuals.
