The incident resulted in the encryption of files on file servers containing names, Social Security numbers, and checking/savings account numbers of employees and customers. The District engaged a cybersecurity firm, deployed endpoint detection, implemented MFA and IPS/IDS, and offered one year of Experian IdentityWorks monitoring to affected individuals.
