Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) inadvertently sent a report containing personal information (name, SSN, 401(k) balance) via secure email to the Plan Sponsor of another retirement plan on July 13, 2012. The recipient immediately notified MassMutual and deleted the information. MassMutual investigated and determined no misuse occurred. Affected individuals were offered two years of Equifax Credit Watch.
